Feyenoord Rotterdam has officially announced the appointment of Robin van Persie as their new head coach, heralding a new era for the Eredivisie club.
The club expressed their enthusiasm with an official statement released on Sunday, stating, “The next chapter starts here. Robin van Persie, welcome home again.”
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the appointment, reporting that the former Netherlands international and Feyenoord legend has signed a contract extending until June 2027.
This long-term commitment signifies the club’s confidence in Van Persie’s ability to lead the team. Van Persie, known for his celebrated playing career at clubs like Feyenoord, Arsenal, and Manchester United, is now transitioning to a managerial role at De Kuip, marking a significant new chapter in his football journey.
Further details regarding Van Persie’s coaching team were also revealed by Romano. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) last Friday, he announced that René Hake will be joining Van Persie’s staff. “Robin van Persie signs today as Feyenoord’s new head coach until June 2027.
Former Erik ten Hag assistant René Hake will join his staff too,” Romano wrote. Hake, who previously served as an assistant to Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, brings valuable experience and expertise to Van Persie’s backroom team.
