Why Peter Obi, Wike And I Left PDP - Kwankwaso Reveals

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the National leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has revealed why he, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and others left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Kwankwaso, who was refuting claims of an agreement with the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections, said lies and deceit were the reason they all left the opposition party.

It is worth noting, however, that despite being controversial, Wike has not officially left the PDP as stated by Kwankwaso.

Kwankwaso, however, characterized the assertions that he would govern Nigeria for four years, followed by Atiku for another four years, and Obi for eight years, as inaccurate.

In an interview with the BBC, the former governor of Kano State expressed his lack of knowledge regarding such a scheme.

Nevertheless, he acknowledged that he had heard reports of Atiku’s associates engaging in discussions and meetings with regional leaders and religious figures to promote this narrative.

According to Kwankwaso: “I did not appreciate this at all.

“They were told that I had agreed to a deal where Atiku would serve for four years, I would serve for another four years, and Peter Obi would serve for eight years.

“This is completely false; such an agreement never existed. Such lies and deceit are precisely why we left. Myself, Peter Obi, Wike, and others all left.

“Now they are coming back, asking us to help those who humiliated us to achieve their goals.”
