Why There Are Challenges In Nigeria - CAN Reveals

The Chairman of the Osun chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. John Adeleke, urged Nigerians on Sunday to seek divine intervention for the nation’s healing from hunger and various other difficulties.

Adeleke made this statement while engaging with the News Agency of Nigeria during the Faji Community Crusade held in Faji Town, located in the Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun.

He emphasized that a nation where both the populace and its leaders lack righteousness will inevitably face challenges. He remarked that the current adversities reflect a discontent with God.

He noted that the ongoing famine aligns with the prophecies of the last days, asserting that the only remedy lies in turning to God and fostering a reverence for Him.

The Community Christ Ambassador Evangelical Team organized the crusade.

“There will be challenges in a country where the people and their leaders are not righteous. God is expecting that every sinner should repent and turn to Him.

“Most of the things that are happening show that God is not happy with us. Somehow, we are experiencing famine as part of the last-day prophecies. The only solution is for everyone to turn to God and develop a fear of God.

“Sinners should give their lives to Jesus Christ and turn away from their wicked ways; I believe God is the God of mercy, He will show mercy,” Adeleke said.

The CAN chairman described the situation where leaders get to offices without any prior plan for the people as unfortunate.

“Once they get to their respective offices, they do not care about the welfare of the people,” he said.

He cried against political leaders who find it hard to fulfil their promises to the public because of the people they surround themselves with.

“Hence, they get to listen to bad advice and sometimes, the power of dark forces is at work,” he said.

Adeleke stated that leaders who depend solely on their own abilities and intellect, occasionally resorting to unholy influences rather than seeking guidance from God, tend to generate more issues than they resolve.

He expressed his hope and prayer that all individuals, particularly leaders, would return to a path aligned with God.
